Before we designed a single page, we spent months on the logo.

Glean won this through a competitive bid with GIZ: brand and website for the Cambodia Cashew Federation. The Federation is a government-adjacent body that promotes the growth of Cambodia's cashew industry, works toward common standards for how the crop is produced, and helps growers reach export markets. It was established by the Cambodian government together with NGOs, the private sector and farmers, and it needed a professional home online that matched the seriousness of that work.

The brand came first

The Federation didn't just need pages. It needed an identity. Our design team met with them and consulted for months to build the branding from the ground up: a style guide and guidelines, the logo, the typefaces, the whole visual approach. Only once that was settled did we design the site on top of it.

That order matters. A website is easy to redesign later. A brand that the Federation, its members and its export partners all recognize is harder to earn, and it was the thing that would outlast the project.

Built to hand over

From there we designed and built the site to carry everything the Federation needed to say: who they are, what they do, where they are based, and a steady stream of news and policy updates. We built it on Liferay, and we set it up so they could maintain it themselves.

A spread of the finished pages: mission, membership, cashew specifications, news articles and the board The finished pages, from the mission and membership sections through cashew data, news and the board.

That was the point. We didn't want the Federation depending on us every time a policy changed or a new board member joined. We designed the whole thing so they could update it, manage it, and take ownership of it, and then we handed it over.

The best outcome on a project like this is that the client stops needing you. We built the brand, built the site, and left them able to run it on their own.
