Following up with people is one of the most important things you can do if you're in a customer facing role. Email has made a lot of things easier, but it has also made somethings harder. In the old days, you would just pick up the phone and call someone. You'd connect and get the information you needed.

Now, we send an email out, not knowing when we might hear back. I make it a personal goal that anyone who emails me, will hear back within 24 hours. Do I always do it? No. But I work as hard a possible to let people know I heard them. It's about caring more about them, than it is about your workload.
